OutLook asking For Password again and again

Dec10

You are able to login successfully through your web-mail, but not from Outlook. Outlook is asking Password again and again, then what to do?

1) If you have facing the above issue, then it is a problem of pop3 service, just do the simple tick to resolve issue.

Open the below file  in your favorite editor.

[root@pop ~]# vi /etc/xinetd.d/popa3d

Then just change disable = yes in this file.

2) you have to do the same changes into the below file as well.

[root@pop ~]# vi /etc/xinetd.d/popa3ds

3) And restart the service of mail and cPanel.

[root@office1 ~]#/etc/init.d/xinetd restart

OR

[root@office1 ~]#/scripts/courierup

[root@office1 ~]# /etc/init.d/cpanel restart

[root@office1 ~]# /etc/init.d/courier-authlib restart

Now, it is not asking for password. 😛 B|

Berkeley DB error /var/spool/exim/db/retry: unexpected file type or format

This problem occur when  receiving the emails in the inbox.

When you facing the above error simply do below following steps to resolve it ,

1) Login to the server as root and stop the EXIM service using below commands :-

root@master[#] /etc/init.d/exim stop

2) root@master[#]  cd /var/spool/exim/db/

after that you need to take a backup of “/db” for security purpose  and remove all the files.

root@master[#]  cp -Ra db/ db.bk/  (For taking a backup )

3) root@master[#]  cd /var/spool/exim/db/

4) root@master[#]  rm -rf *  (for remove/delete files)

And start the EXIM service so the new “db” is automatically created,
